Be Gratitude

Here is a brief Thanksgiving meditation.

Sit comfortably. Take a deep breath in through your nose. Exhale slowly through your nose. Inhale slowly and deeply through the nose. Exhale so slowly.

Scroll down so that the entire next paragraph is visible. Then try to take one slow, deep breath per sentence.

Place your left hand over your heart on the center of your chest. Place your right hand on top of it and press down. Feel the breath as it lifts and lowers your chest. Feel the energy of the breath moving through you as your lungs rise and fall. Feel the energy moving through you, swirling inside your rib cage and surrounding your heart. Feel the energy of the oxygen moving through your bloodstream. Feel your heart being energized by the oxygen flowing through your bloodstream. Allow your heart to fill with this energy. Allow your heart to fill with gratitude for this energy. Feel your heart as it fills with gratitude for the breath that flows to it. Bring a smile to your lips, even if it’s fake. Close your eyes for a few deep breaths.

Release your hands down and relax.

Continue to breathe slowly and deeply. Inhaling gratitude, holding your breath for 1 second, holding on to the gratitude, then releasing it on your exhale.
Inhale gratitude, hold it in for 1 second, then release it.
Continue this for as long as you like.

As you move through the rest of the day, take every opportunity you can to stop and notice your breath. And each time you do, think to yourself-

I am breathing gratitude. Gratitude flows to my lungs, to my heart, and through my veins.

Today, each time I stop to notice my breath, I will be gratitude.
