So much talking.
So many words.
Stop all the talking.
Just sit.
Just sit and listen.
So many words.
All this talk about doing.
All this thinking about action.
Stop all the thinking.
Just sit.
Just sit and be still.
All this talk about doing.
All this talk about trying.
All this trying to do.
Stop trying so hard.
Just sit.
Just sit and allow it to be.
All this talk about trying.
So much effort, so much energy.
This trying to find something.
This struggling to get somewhere.
Stop struggling.
Just sit.
Just sit and be right here.
So much effort, so much energy.
All this motion and movement.
Forward, sideways, up and down.
This rushing toward something.
This running away from something.
Stop rushing and running.
Just sit.
Just sit and feel this very moment.
All this motion and movement.
All this shuffling and shifting.
This leaning away from discomfort.
This shifting toward the familiar.
Stop leaning.
Stop shifting.
Just sit.
Just sit and just sit.
All this shuffling and shifting.
This talk about someday knowing.
This endless search for knowledge.
Stop searching.
You already know.
You always have.
You were born knowing and you learned to forget.
Just sit.
Just sit and you will remember.

This is a terrific poem and would be a great one to perform. It’s not a million times different from the theme of my own latest poem, called Slow:)
Yes! I read and enjoyed ‘Slow’. And I thought, this is a bit like ‘Just Sit’ ! 🙂
Must be the stars aligning 🙂
