When the thoughts come (and they will come)
when they rise up and form like thick clouds in the sky, let them form and let them float.
A thought won’t last forever.
It comes and it goes.
When the wind comes (yes, it will come)
when it rushes in with gale force, turn your back to it, change direction, and let it blow.
The wind won’t blow forever.
It comes and it goes.
When the storm comes (because it will come)
when it roars and rages, head for cover, scrap your plans and hunker down and let it rage.
The storm won’t rage forever.
It comes and it goes.
When the fear comes (when the fear comes)
when the flood of panic rises up from your feet to your throat, let it swirl around inside you, and let it grow.
The fear won’t last forever.
It comes and it goes.
When the tears come (oh, they will come)
when the joy is overflowing or the sadness too vast to contain,
Let them spill from your eyes and your nose and let them flow.
The tears won’t last forever.
They come and they go.
When the stillness comes (one day it will come)
When the storm has passed and the winds die down,
When the tears stop flowing, and the fog of fear has lifted, when the clouds of thought go wispy, and the big sky clears.
Don’t try to hold onto it. Just let it be.
The stillness won’t last forever.
It comes and it goes.
The thoughts and the feelings The wind and the worries
The fears and the tears
The storm and the stillness
They come.
And they go.

Ah, such simple wisdom and so potent. Sending you much gratitude and love. How are you feeling?
Better every day, I say. So that it will be so! And you?
Experiencing intense emotions
Flashbacks that are not not blowing past. We will practice over and over
I’m sorry to hear that. Practice is all we have and all we are. The current situation in the world is scary, and that vulnerability is a trigger for so many of us. The subtle feelings bring us right back. Going back causes suffering. Going forward causes anxiety. We have to remind each other to stay in the present moment. Keep practicing. And be gentle with yourself.
